How do I buy a gift, and how does my recipient redeem it?

Register an account in your own name to place the gift order — you don't need the recipient's details to set it up. Once your order is placed, we'll email them with instructions on registering their own account and redeeming the gift.

Choosing your test

I’m not sure which test is right for me. Can I get some advice? Absolutely. Contact us with information about your health concerns or goals, and we'll get back to you with advice about which of our tests is right for you. Can I add additional biomarkers to one of your existing checks? Yes, you can add on additonal tests from the personalised tests area of our website. Can I design my own custom test? Yes you can. You can order a custom panel from the personalised tests area of our website. Alternatively contact us with details of which tests you're interested in, and we'll provide you with a custom quote. Can I use i-screen instead of going to my GP? i-screen doesn't replace advice from your usual healthcare providers. Our service is designed to supplement the care you would receive from your GP or other allied health professionals rather than replace it. I am under 18, can I buy a test? We're afraid not. i-screen is only available for those aged 18 years and over. I am not an Australian resident, can I buy a blood test? Yes definitely. Our services are available to both residents and non-residents who are able to visit one of our designated collection centres in Australia. Are there any additional costs not included in the price listed on your website? Provided you visit one of our affiliated collection centres, there are no hidden costs and the price on our website represents the total price for our tests. Can I get a Medicare rebate from my blood test? We're afraid not. This is a private service which does not attract a Medicare rebate. Does my private health insurance cover these blood tests? Unfortunately in Australia self requested pathology is not funded by Medicare or private health insurance. Your GP may be able to offer you some of these tests depending on any specific health issues you may have, and in this instance they would be rebatable by Medicare. Can’t I just get these tests for free from my GP? In some cases yes. In order to qualify for a Medicare funded blood test from your GP you will need to meet certain health criteria. The public system typically funds pathology services for patients who are already symptomatic or at high risk or developing a specific health condition. Your GP will be able to provide you with further information. Can I have my blood tested whilst I’m pregnant or breastfeeding? Yes you can. Please remember to disclose these facts in your health profile as if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this may impact the interpretation of your blood test results. Does my pathology form expire? Pathology forms are valid for 6 months from the purchase date. Please contact us if you need an extension.

Why do I have to complete a health profile? Details of your medical history are important so our medical professionals can interpret your blood test results, e.g. if you have diabetes then this will increase certain risk factors when interpreting your cholesterol results. Do I have to disclose any medications or supplements I’m taking? Certain medications you are taking (e.g. hormone supplements or protein shakes) may impact your blood test results and if you don't disclose these to us we won't be able to provide accurate interpretation and advice. Any information you share with us is strictly confidential and managed in accordance with our privacy policy. Will you share my information with anyone? Your information is managed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) using the latest encryption technologies. We are committed to protecting your personal information and only share your data with our medical professionals who review your results within our platform. Refer to our privacy policy for more information. Why do you need my mobile number? If we're unable to contact you by email to discuss your test results, or if we need to follow up with you urgently, it's important that we have your mobile number.

Collecting your sample

Do I need to fast before my test? For some of our blood tests you will need to fast. Please follow the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page before visiting the collection centre. Can I exercise before my blood test? Some blood test results (e.g. creatine kinase) may be impacted by strenuous exercise, therefore it's important to follow the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page. Do I need to stop taking my medications or supplements before my blood test? Not generally. If this is required it will be specified in the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page, but feel free to contact us if you're unsure. Where do I go to get my blood collected? You can find your nearest collection centre on our website, but contact us if your have any issues finding a collection centre near you. Can I go to any collection centre? It's important that you only present your pathology request form at one of our designated collection centres listed on our website. Whilst a non-designated collection centre may accept your form, they will bill you again for the test. Do I need to make an appointment with the collection centre? No appointment is necessary. It's always a good idea to telephone the collection centre before your visit to double check their hours of operation. If you are taking a saliva or urine test, please contact the collection centre to ensure they stock the appropriate sample collection containers for your test. Is there an additional fee for my blood collection? No, the price on our website includes all fees and charges. I can’t find a collection centre near me, does that mean I can’t use i-screen? Not necessarily. Contact us with details of your suburb and we'll do our best to find a convenient collection centre for you. What do I need to bring to the collection centre? You'll need to bring a valid form of I.D. such as a drivers licence with you, as well as a printed copy of your pathology form. What do I do if the collection centre doesn’t recognise my form? All the collector needs to see is the billing code which is written on your pathology request form to perform your blood draw. Does the collection centre need to see a Medicare card? No - this is a private service so you will not need to provide a Medicare card.

How accurate are your tests? Your samples are analysed by our trusted licensed partner pathology laboratories who are accredited by the National Association Testing Authority (NATA) in Australia and New Zealand, meaning you can be confident of reliable results. How long do I have to wait for my results? Depending on where you live and which blood tests you have taken, results may be available as soon as the following day after you visit the collection centre. More specialised tests may take longer for the pathology lab to turn around. If you haven't received your results within 2 days of visiting a collection centre, please contact us. Is my data secure? Your information is managed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) using the latest encryption technologies. We are committed to protecting your personal information and only share your data with our health professionals who review your results within our platform. Can I see results from my previous tests online? Yes, if you purchased a standard check from our website, you will be able to view your previous test results online. If you have previous test results from a test you didn't purchase through i-screen, we can upload these into your personal dasbhoard for you - find out how Upload Test Results. Which reference ranges do you use? Reference ranges are sets of values used to interpret your test results. A reference range is the range that 95% of the normal population falls within and is determined by collecting data from vast numbers of laboratory tests. Reference ranges vary from laboratory to laboratory, and depend on which specific equipment was used to assess your sample. The reference ranges included in your report are specific to the laboratory and equipment used to assess your specific sample. Will you explain what my results mean? Yes, your test results are reviewed by experienced health professionals who will provide interpretation of your results to help you understand what they mean, as well as any recommended next steps. What happens next?

How often should I repeat my test? How long you should wait before repepating your test will vary depending on your results. Our doctor will provide a recommendation in your health report on when to take your next test. If you experience any symptoms or feel unwell in between tests then you should contact your GP. If you have any changes to your health circumstances please contact us for testing advice. And don't forget to keep your health profile up to date! Can you prescribe medication based on my results? No, diagnosis and treatment of a potential condition should be provided by your GP or usual health practitioner. Can I share my test results with my GP? Certainly. We encourage you to share your blood test results with your GP, and you can print a copy of your health report for this purpose. Feel free to contact us if you would like a copy of your laboratory report emailed to you. Will my GP ask me to repeat the tests? Possibly. Your samples are assessed by the same laboratories that your GP uses, however your GP may want to conduct additional blood tests to confirm your results weren't due to an anomaly such as dehydration.

Why have my results changed?
Your Biological Age is calculated using an algorithm that looks at multiple blood markers and compares them to large health datasets. Initially, the algorithm was based on U.S. population data, as this was the most complete data available at the time.

What’s new?
We’ve retrained the algorithm using Australian population data. This means your results are now benchmarked against local health data that better reflects Australians’ health profiles.

Does this mean my old results were wrong?
Not at all. Your earlier results were accurate based on the U.S. data available then. This update simply provides a more relevant reference point for you, so your results today — and any changes over time — are even more meaningful.

What does this mean for me?
- Your Biological Age may look different now compared to your earlier report.
- Going forward, your results will be based on the improved Australian dataset.
- This gives you the best possible baseline for tracking your progress over time.
