Do I need to fast before my test?

For some of our blood tests you will need to fast. Please follow the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page before visiting the collection centre.

Can I exercise before my blood test?

Some blood test results (e.g. creatine kinase) may be imapcted by strenuous exercise, therefore it's important to follow the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page.

Do I need to stop taking my medications or supplements before my blood test?

Not generally. If this is required it will be specified in the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page, but feel free to contact us if you're unsure.

Where do I go to get my blood collected?

You can find your nearest collection centre on our website, but contact us if your have any issues finding a collection centre near you.

Can I go to any collection centre?

It's important that you only present your pathology request form at one of our designated collection centres listed on our website. Whilst a non-designated collection centre may accept your form, they will bill you again for the test.

Do I need to make an appointment with the collection centre?

No appointment is necessary. It's always a good idea to telephone the collection centre before your visit to double check their hours of operation. If you are taking a saliva or urine test, please contact the collection centre to ensure they stock the appropriate sample collection containers for your test.

Is there an additional fee for my blood collection?

No, the price on our website includes all fees and charges.

I can’t find a collection centre near me, does that mean I can’t use i-screen?

Not necessarily. Contact us with details of your suburb and we'll do our best to find a convenient collection centre for you.

What do I need to bring to the collection centre?

You'll need to bring a valid form of I.D. such as a drivers licence with you, as well as a printed copy of your pathology form.

What do I do if the collection centre doesn’t recognise my form?

All the collector needs to see is the billing code which is written on your pathology request form to perform your blood draw.

Does the collection centre need to see a Medicare card?

No - this is a private service so you will not need to provide a Medicare card.
